The primary objective of MESOPP is to demonstrate the interest of establishing a common methodology and a connected network of databases of acoustic data for the estimation of micronekton biomass and validation of ocean ecosystem models.
As part of the MESOPP project, one workshop per year was held. The first workshop of the project (2016) focused on the standardisation of acoustic data for micronekton modelling. The second (2017) had a special focus on the development of the database and e-infrastructure. The third meeting (2018) had the objective of progressing on the design of the needs for the implementation of a global coupled acoustic-based observation-modelling system.
